Do we have any thoughts on this.
I like the simplified format. The plan is to run the CMP event in May.
The car classing is going to bite me in the butt though. The G35 is headed to Max due to a later year engine swap and the plenum spacer. Pretty sure I'll end up DFL.
Should be fun though.
I was at TT Nats last year and was easily the most fun I’ve had at a track event. So much so that I rented a garage at NCM and booked a hotel the day the dates were released.

They just proposed a new class that is basically tuner but allows engine swaps OR adding forced induction so you might not be as screwed as you think on classing.
Like anything that has few classes it's going to hard to be at the absolute pointy end. With that said, I think it's a great format to get track time and have fun competing with your buddies even if nobody takes home a trophy.

I'm on the fence with the new format. I have several friends who have been involved in TT for a very long time and are not happy with the change. That said, I have the CMP event on my calendar (only event I'll be able to go to). My Civic will either be in Max or the new class.
Pro tip: don’t let the thought of not being competitive deter you from attending.
Run groups are based on experience instead of class (advanced, intermediate, novice). After the first session they grid you based on lap time, so in theory you should be able to run the next session without much traffic issues because you are slower than the guy in front of you and faster than the guy behind you. You end up running with cars that are similar paced to you, but not necessarily in your class. I’d rather get my ass kicked in the class and have close running on track with someone else.

100% this. It was a brilliant time.
The only classing that matters is the Lotion Index™

I saw some FB posts about that. We will see if it makes it into the rules.

I'm not super concerned about being competitive as long as I don't end up being a rolling chicane. I'll be there for the CMP event and the Buck Muse TT as well.
I think its maybe a great way for me to get started doing some track, But my car doesn't fit in any of the classes.
and this new proposed class is no different
"For instance – if the car didn’t come with individual throttle bodies, they may not be installed"
you can add a turbo/supercharger but not ITBs come on!
where would all the solo street prepared cars fit in this event?

Sounds like the VTEC rule at my local track.....
