The American Motorcycle Association (AMA) tried this approach years ago and it didn't work very well. Hopefully PMH does a better job.
No disrespect meant to anyone involved but as a 32 year member of the SCCA I never saw how Pro Racing added anything much to club racing. The numbers of club racers that transitioned to Pro Racing is relatively small.
I think the move is wise.
This should eliminate the money pit that Pro has been for years.
Back in the day Can-Am, Trans-Am, F5000 and F Atlantic were good for some TV exposure that helped bring in some new members... I guess not too good for the Secret Car Club of America.
