I would call Uber rather than ride with a stranger who knows how much cash I'm holding.
I've sold cars from my house, but I'm not letting random strangers inside, so they really don't know anything more about me as a potential target than they would if they drove past my house randomly. It's also been for cars that were worth enough that I was getting cashier's checks for them rather than a stack of hundreds, so even after receiving payment I'm not too concerned about being a special target.
Maybe I'm stupid, but I just sell stuff from my house. Part of it is convenience, I don't want to drive someplace to meet someone and sit around there waiting for to show up, then get pissed off when they don't.
You don't show up and I'm at home? Whatever...
Haven't sold a cheap car in awhile though, last one was my Jeep Cherokee and a friend bought it. So I expect the buyers were more wary as they were showing up with a decent pile of money to give me.
Like others, I don't let them inside the house and I'm armed.
