First gen horizon is what became the charger. They don't share as many parts as I wished they did when I was looking at them back in my turbo dodge days.

I miss my EXP, and would happily buy another one if it came along for the right price and in the right condition.

Check out FordEXP.com and you'll discover that you aren't alone. They have a bit of a following.

That was a Horizon TC3. I suspect they're even rarer than an EXP.

There was a poo-brown early EXP that lived down the street from me a couple of years ago. It was clean, but worn. I'm glad it went away before I had a chance to add it to the fleet. They are kinda cool in a weird sort of way.

Rare? Now the EXP Turbo was rare!

Something tells me that someone looking at an AWD Tempo swap into one isn't thinking of leaving the geometry stock. The way ANY car is, stock, is not a good enough reason, especially on GRM, to dismiss it. They are all merely starting points.

I can honestly say I have never heard of or seen that car until to today. Is it wrong I sort of like it.....

Great pic! Who takes the time to post a car for sale with a pic like that? Ah Craigslist! The bottom barrel of the gene pool!

maybe that's why I spend so much time on CL!

Gotta be that. This was in beater condition, too. Not that rarity = desirability in this case.

My ex-wife had one when we met. Hers ate ignition modules like popcorn. It's an Escort with a cool body, there's got to be some aftermarket support somewhere.

I remember as a wee slip of a lad seeing one in Car Craft....when it only would have been about three or four years old. Someone had dropped a pretty stock looking black EXP body on a tube-frame with a 429. Well, it was stock looking except for the giant hood scoop and huge M/T's out back....did I mention it was the '80s?

I'd rock one. But the Rampage is cooler.

I'll encourage it. I had a MPC model kit of one in the '80's. Can't even find a picture of the kit now. I'm pretty sure mine ended up similar to that car in Car Craft, without the need to actually make stuff work. Sometimes I miss building cars with just a tube of Testors and some injected molded styrene...

I like the idea of using that Craig's find as a raw material starting point. If the shell is rust free, and the impossible to find trim pieces are there, half the asking price might not be bad.

I prefer the non-GT lines of the early EXP. Figure out a way to get most of a Focus SVT under one with the original lines and I think you are onto something.

More like running. It's polished up just fine. Just won't go anywhere. And, yeah, I sure do need to fix that 'cause the car is really cool. Sigh. The Celica is almost to a point where I can autocross it and have fun. Then I'll get back to the Capri.

If I wasn't under so many projects, I'd do things like ask that seller for a little bit wider picture and find out where Muskegon is.
