Cheap shocks. Looks like KYB GR2s are the best low budget choice on ebuy. There are also Sensens for super cheap. Any experience here?

Shocks dont control ride height, so if youhave something sagging you probably need more parts. A bent shaft can keep a shock from expanding/compressing and cause a change in ride height but thats about it.
Need to know what kind of car you're looking for shocks for.
1988 Saab 900 SPG. A more accurate description is that the car bottoms out on big bumps. Feels like a little more body lean that I would expect on the twisties and is a little hasher than I would expect in daily driving. The shocks appear to be 27 year old originals so they do better than they should. What I seek is Bilstein feel at the lowest possible cost.
I put sensen in the wife's Subaru wagon about 15k ago. Rear is not valved right, but that's because they're for a sedan. Don't offer fir rear wagon. They're better than monroe and Gabriel, but shure ain't bilstein.
I've used KYB GR2s on a Saturn Vue after the OE ones rusted through and the bottom coil of the springs rusted off. I liked them well enough and it firmed up the rear pretty well. Though it could just be that I had a rear suspension again.
I put Sensens on my i30t, and they seemed OK at first, but I felt like the damping really fell off abruptly after only about 5000 miles.
I've got the Koni Oranges in the rear of the Neon and I've been pretty impressed with them. The official product line name is STR.T. I think I got the pair for around $185 or so after shipping.
I have a set of "limited edition" for that car that I never installed, I think they are private brand Monroe shocks. $40 shipped?
I've had GR2s on a couple of my 900s. They were... okay. The Bilstein HDs really are worth the money.

I absolutely loved the bilsteins on my track day car but the budget has changed.
I put KYB's on a 190 2.6 I had and they were great!!!! That and a new set of tires and the car was completely transformed.
Always was satisfied with my KYB's. Not the best damping, but they do last. Also, I've been very happy with some Tokico blues. Don't know if they make them for your car though?
