Should I buy this fuel cell for the Challenge C3?

The C3 did not have a tank when I got it.

I would buy new eBay for similar money 

I got a 5ish gal with brackets amd pump here ill do  for less. Need recoup for my challenge build.

Is the foam "foam" or is it "a crumbling mess that will cause you endless fuel starvation problems when it inevitably plugs the fuel filter"

Fuel cell foam is a consumable, needs to be replaced on a regular basis.  If it isn't fairly recent, or is otherwise age-unknown, it should be replaced.

I was at a 24hr Lemons paddocked next to a team with a cheap used cell.  They would get about ten or twelve laps per fuel filter.

That could work. I mean it only has to get down the 1/4 mile a few times and run a couple of autocross runs.

I was planning on autocrossing the car once passed the challenge.

Just take Pete's advice on the old  foam into account if buying used.
