These cheap turn signals I bought for the truck are the gift that just keep giving. The only bulb I can find at the parts store that has two contacts on the bottom and the little nubs are in line are size 90.

The truck has the ability to run parking lights and turns. Is there a small dual filament that has the nubs in line with each other? All the dual filaments with two contacts on the bottom seem to have offset nubs.

This is what I'm talking about.

Offset

In line.

Last resort is retrofitting different sockets into these housings but I'm concerned they physically won't fit.

Last, last resort is just having turns.

EDIT:

This will definitely fit, supports dual filament and is probably where I'm headed unless there's a GRM bulb solution. There was nothing as compact at the parts store today.

the nubs are offset to keep you from installing it wrong.  they also stop the bulb from being pushed out by the springs under the wire terminals.  i can't say i know of a dual-filament bulb with the nubs in line.

if the height of one of the offset nubs is the same as the inline nubs, you could just file off the one offset nub that is not in line with the inline nubs, and know that you might have issues with the bulb staying in the socket.  that's what i'd try.

FWIW, 1157 is the typical old school two filament stop/tail/turn bulb and 1156 is the typical old school single filament for backups

You can always swap to a 1157 base.  12v21/5w is a mini dual.  Might have to massage tabs to fit.

In reply to AngryCorvair (Forum Supporter) :

That's not a bad suggestion but to your point I'd rather it be more reliable and not have to do it every time I swap bulbs.

In reply to benzbaronDaryn :

I'm thinking swapping bases is the way to go.

Inline two filament bulbs did exist, at least in 6 volt applications. I think they went OEM obsolete around 1954. I have not seen a replacement bulb since the mid 60s.

https://www.cecindustries.com

The CEC website allows searching by base style or bulb shape. They also have a good automotive application search.

For the original question maybe the 1176 would work?
