so, i bought a pressure washer to clean up the house im in. the only way to get it in the car to get it back home was to put it on its side. once the pressure washer was in the car it was more upright, but still on a tilt.

fast forward till i get home and now the pressure washer won't start, go figure right? pull the spark plug and there's a bunch of oil in there. this was obviously the issue of the no start, so where do i go from here?

ive decided to let it self drain for the night hoping all oil will be gone by the time i wake up tomorrow. is there anything else i should do?

Pull the engine over a couple of times with the plug out to get the rest of the oil out of the combustion chamber.  Clean or replace the plug.  Check the crankcase oil level.  Fire it up.  Whatever fuel was in the float bowl is now in some random location so it's not going to want to start right away but it should eventually start.

You should also take a look at the air filter.

Some manufacturers route the crankcase vent to the air cleaner. Depending on the orientation during transport, the air filter may be saturated with oil which will make it run rough and hard to start.

Also check that gas did not get in to the oil. Not likely if the cylinder was full of oil but smell the oil in the case to see if it has gas in it.

See, another example of why pickup trucks are so popular!

Good suggestions here. An oil change couldn't hurt in any case, especially if the machine is not new. Spark plug too.

i pulled the engine over for maybe 20 min and a bucket of oil came out. then i let it sit for two days, it looked a LOT less oily than the first time i peeked in there. however trying to start it, it still covered the spark plug in enough oil to fill the gap.

No Time brings up a good point about the vent. the crankcase vent circumvents the air cleaner straight for the carburetor, id be willing to bet money that oil gummed up the carb. ill take apart and report back later
