I wish that I had the money sitting around for this and somewhere to use it.

Cool but too damned ugly to put in the living room:
I disagree. Form follows function and that thing's gorgeous. BUt it would be better displayed in a chassis that could be driven.
In reply to pilotbraden:
That would be so cool in my TVR...
In reply to ultraclyde:
I was thinking mid engine sand rail, light weight and on display.
Actually, it's probably not that streetable. I'd like to see the power curve. For a 205 inch engine to make that kind of power, it's got to be revving pretty high, and may not have any power down low.
That wouldn't stop me from buying it if I had the spare cash though!
That would be cool in my '72 Suburban
"not any power down low" probably means only 400 hp in the lower range.

If nothing else, that seems like a really cheap way to achieve 1300HP, not to mention the amazing history behind it.

I wouldn't mind that in my '60 El Camino.
Reverse rotation - drop it in a Corvair.
Remember, a race engine's life is measured in hours. I doubt it would even make 400hp at 1/4 throttle. Also, the engine has been sitting, so the heads come off to check the valve springs, etc...1300hp "per Smokey's notebooks". Maybe in qualifying trim, while it's a hair from eating itself. And we all know how truthful Smokey was
I'd want a long, aged, verified paper trail before dropping $$ on this one.
