Not that I'd bought the ones I asked about , or anything, because then there'd be an extra set of seats in my garage, which there aren't... (I know there's a spy on this board...), but for the sake of argument, what's the best way to clean a little dirt/grease/oil off of them?
Bissell Little Green Machine or similar
I have had great results with Tough Stuff
and/or a Degreaser like Purple Power or Simple Green
add in a stiff brush like one you might scrub a bath tub with.
Last step, lots and lots of water. More water than you would think. The seat is mostly foam, get it thoroughly wet.
Dang, Amazon has some pretty stellar reviews for Tough Stuff...
Yes, that stuff is awesome. Used it to make coffee stained seats look new once
I typically use castrol superclean and a concrete brush. Followed by the garden hose on pencil stream until the water runs clear. Ive brought some really bad ones back that way. Same with carpets
Non chlorinated brake cleaner. It's basically dry cleaning fluid. Also works on T shirts and pants.
Just don't spray it on your hootus.
Spray Nine. You can buy it in spray bottles or gallon jugs. I've seen it take black grease stains out of white carpet and make the rest of the carpet look dirty in comparison. I've also seen it start to pull the dye out of the leather on a Mercedes, so be careful. It's the only cleaning product I've used where "test in an inconspicuous spot" turned out to be a good idea.
It smells just like K&N air filter cleaner but at a much lower price. So I use it to clean my air filters and buy big spraycans of Klotz air filter oil, get like 3-5x as much value per dollar as buying a recharger kit.
