I was driving on I-94 west of Detroit today and saw a "new" body style Stang with manufacturer plates on it. It had a somewhat unfinished looking exhaust system on it and the driver had a laptop running datalogging. I paced it for a little bit just to look it over. A few observations: Exhaust sounded decent, not great, but decent for a 4. It seemed to sit quite a bit lower than the few new V6/V8 cars I've seen so far. Seemed to have some sort of an intake scoop in the hood on the driver's side, sort of like a NACA duct, but square. Still not sure I'd buy a domestic turbo'd 4, though.

I can't imagine that they are still testing when job 1 date is 9/9. I would think that they have all of that squared away by now but I could be wrong.

they are probably always testing, maybe something new cropped up and they are trying to figure it out..

Ford is always testing, they even have a fleet of already released cars they keep around just for the engineers to borrow and pile miles onto for long term durability testing. I doubt this behavior is specific to Ford.

2015 Ecoboost ride along

I haven't heard this video since we don't have speakers at work.

I saw one when I was up in Colorado a few months ago. Got to talk to the people too.

Guy driving it was an electrical engineering intern.

They said it was a turbo and it would run on regular gas but "only idiots" would put that in. Said you would lose a ton of power. They also said that this test car cost a million dollars.

But the Internet told me that if the manufacturer says 87 is the minimum octane then putting higher octane in is a waste of money, and I always listen to the Internet when it tells me what I want to hear.

Worried about a domestic turbo 4? Seriously? There are some really good ones when taken in context of purpose and time period. Hell the original SVO mustang has a great motor.

In reply to accordionfolder: Not really worried about it, just doesn't appeal to me. If I were buying a Mustang, I'd want the 5.0 anyways. Just thought this might be of interest to "the hive". The duct part I thought was interesting, since I hadn't seen it in any of the sketches/press photos.
