customer's car today.
265ci + 30psi boost X 7000rpm = six 950cc/min injectors going static = DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE
(I did the math. It's right around 1000 crank HP)
One of Darth Vader's Buicks. Go fast with class.
I was wrong. It was only 6200 when the injectors went static.
What's the scoop on the motor? 9 to 1 4.3 swapped in and 79 mmt wins?

That means you just need bigger injectors right?
Good lord that is a lot of injector to go static. Is this car on corn juice?
You could just be making 300 crank and blowing black smoke... just saying.
sorry, couldn't help myself

Nope, just good old fashioned C16.
What shocks ME is the turbo response. It's beyond instant.
The only smoke is from the tires in any gear on an unprepared surface. When the injectors were static the air/fuel was at a nice and safe 11.5:1. Can't wait to get it on the dyno to tune it further and see what it "officially" puts out.
We'll see what the car's owner wants to do, either turn the boost down or raise fuel pressure or go more biggerful on the injectors. My guess is it will be the first one until he gets the launch sorted further, and then the boost can come up. I didn't really drive it before doing the work, but the responsiveness of the old engine was nowhere near what this one is, so I expect that launch techniques and suspension tuning will need to be thoroughly revised.

Just wondering but what are you working on?
See above. Darth Vader's Buicks. All black, make funny wheezing sounds all the time, and then they force-crush your throat
This is the first one I've worked with that didn't use a Buick block. The only Buick part of the engine is the timing cover.

730whp. That's what.
Not too bad for a V6!
I still love the NHRA Pro Stock turbo experiment. it went something like this:
Buddy: Can I run a little 260 V6 turbo in your 500 V8 pro stock class?
NHRA: Sure, (snicker snicker) if you can make it competitive.
year 1 - it was too slow.
Year 2 - Qualify #2, get beat by Glidden in the final
NHRA: oh that? That's super illegal, get that E36 M3 out of here.

Does he take that beast tot the GS nationals?

A buddy of mine has a hopped-up Grand National. He tells everyone that he drives a V6 Buick.
Still through the 200-4r? Why is it losing over 25%, when sub 20% is the norm?
Maybe the torque converter wasn't locked up. Maybe the air temps had something to do with it - it was around 30f when we were road testing, much warmer when it was on the dyno. Who knows? Dyno numbers are dyno numbers, you know?
