I still haven't been able to go see this car yet. I've been busy during the week and the seller has been gone on the weekends. As far as I know he hasn't sold it yet but if it doesn't happen within the next week or so I'll probably give up and move on.

The late-great Brock Yates was a huge fan of the 300E. He owned one for awhile and used to say it was one of the best all-around cars in the world.

My experience in these is listed to a 300 TE wagon a friend owned. It was solid, stable, and well built. (all things you expect out of the pointed star) Parts were also pricey. (something you also expect out of the pointed star) He liked it, but when the A/C went, the repair cost more than he wanted to spend, and he sold the car.

I own that car's twin. Problem areas are the under hood wiring, all '95s have the self degrading wiring. All '95s have a poorly made A/C evaporator-22 hours by the book to change. Most '95s will have a leaking head gasket. My '95 has/had all that plus the hydraulic accumulators for the self leveling suspension went bad. A friend had a similar car which suffered from rust to the extent a front spring perch came away from the chassis. Other than that they are quite well made.

isn't that the "way back" jump seat that faces towards the rear?

I gave up on setting a time to go see it and turns out I'm buying a 99 Civic instead.

Not exactly the same thing but should still provide plenty of fun.

My 91 300te was bought with 196k and no reverse. I drove it like that for 18k then swapped a JY Trans in and drove another 22k before selling it. It was excess to requirements but was an incredible car!

Edit: forgot I Had a 91 300e years ago with 435k that was bulletproof also.
