In high school auto shop we had a very similar Packard engine (surplus from a P-51) which the teachers used as a visual aid.
The engine shown was not based on the Rolls-Royce Merlin licensed engine built by Packard for use in the Mustang. Super cool engine none the less.
If it is the 5M-2500 version of this engine, it was rated 1850hp with blower, dual mags, 2 plugs per cyliner.
The 4M-2500 version had only 1200 hp.

Theres only like 4 original Higgins PT boats left. Only PT 305 is all original with its 3 Packard engine. Sorry.
A replica would be awesome however.
