I'm talking about a belt you pervs
I thought my 1.6 SC Miata had lost a step. It does have 201k miles. The old belt had stretched over time and the tensioner was at the limit. New belt, reset tension and now I have my grin-inducing whine and acceleration back.
Not related but, if the instructions say to use a punch...use a punch. I spent about an hour trying to use a crappy allen wrench as a punch to get a pin out of the steering shaft on my Ramcharger. I used liquid wrench and was this >< close to breaking out the angle grinder.
I finally gave up and went to Advance and picked up a punch and chisel set. It took 3 taps with the right sized punch.
I did get to use the angle grinder to cut the new shaft to length. Wow, the new shaft (with 2 u-joints) and new tires made a dramatic difference in driving the truck. I don't have to saw the wheel 45 degrees to go in a straight line anymore. I could DD the beast if I owned Exxon or BP stock.
