With the high quality all seasons I have on it, the Saab 9-2x (2005 Impreza wagon) is very competent in the snow for regular driving or not getting stuck in a snowy field. For something like the Son of Sno Drift rally, are all-seasons on AWD considered okay or do I really need to run in snow tires?

Bump for not running into a tree.

Looks like a TSD on similar roads to Sno*Drift?  Depends on the tire, and on how much margin for error you want to leave between your ideal time and the max amount of performance the car has.  Personally I'd want a proper snow tire for that, some of those unpaved Michigan backroads have pretty high speed limits.

Depends on the weather and you won't know until the last minute. The son of Sno*drift are not the sno*drift roads they are much further south just west of the ann arbor area but it still can be twisty and fun from what i've heard.

You'll probably make it, just have to go slow or get stuck. So bring a shovel, a tow strap, and maybe invest in some sand ramps in case you bin it.

You'll need to log in to post.
