Out of all the racing organizations, especially out here in the northeast, I never hear ANYTHING about them. What's the deal?

I started my racing career with them many years ago. Great folks, good racing and if you have an oddball car they will find a place for you. They are built around a group of car clubs basically in the NY area. They do time trials and wheel to wheel.
Raced with them many times. Great bunch of people. My last race at Bridgehampton was with them. They always seemed allot less interested in how a car looked or how old it was. They would find a place for you and make you feel welcome.
Yes SCCA I am looking at you!!!!
I have run with EMRA but not in the past couple of years due to scheduling. Good people, seem to be struggling a little to keep the club afloat but hanging in there. There share weekends with an open wheel club to help. I do time trials with them and they keep you on the clock all the time so you can pull off a spectacular lap at any point in the day and that is your time. They also group people by their driving abilities which I like. The other club I run with groups by cars, so all the momentum are out together. With EMRA I usually end up with a lot of faster cars and they can whip right by me without having to lift. They also go to tracks the other club doesn't go to so I get more options. They typically fo to Lime Rock in early spring and late fall , then Pocono, NJMP, Summit and sometimes Beaver Run.
From 2001 to 2005, I crewed for a friend running their endurance race series. Races were from 1 to 4 hours in length with the 4 hour being a twilight into night race at Summit Point. I really enjoyed the experience. As others have stated, What other group would welcome a group of guys who lived in 5 different states who were racing a Ford Focus SVT.

I bet I was racing with/against you at summit. We did those races from 2000-2008. I was with Iron Dragon racing or Dowd Brothers Racing.

Probably did. We were a rather motley crew who really didn't even have a team name. We met and got together on the FocalJet forum. Since I was semi-retired I was the advance guy who got there early to grab a pit spot, etc. I also took care of the radios, cameras, and what ever else someone needed help with.
