Early 2000s gm fwd 3100/3400 engine computer.

Where are they located? Ive hunted all through a few cars in the junkyard to grab one without success. Google hasn't provided the answer based on my searches while at the junkyard. Where the images say it should be, its not.

Need a spare for my challenge car. I think mines bad.

On the Grand Prix I think it is under the steering column.

Those are pretty thin on the ground here.

Grand am, malibu, impala, saturn vue, all fairly common with a 3100.

Another spot to look is in or under the airbox. Most of the W body cars had it there.

Can you elaborate? That was a Google search result, but i couldn't see it there. Maybe i missed pulling something  or.....

Older W bodies are behind passenger headlight, not sure how late that carried.

Like they put them in the bottom of the airbox on some cars. Because GM that's why.

Hmm....

I pulled the airbix once to look under, but didn't look inside!

Keep the ideas coming. We head to the junkyard next week to go for broke.

FYI, a Vue does not have a 3100 or 3400.  They have a 3.0 Opel/Saab/GM thing, a J35 Honda up to 2007, then 08-10 have the 3.5 or 3.6 GM.

There are four Vues in the LKQs around here- two in Durham and two in Garner.

Let me know if you're coming up OR if you need something pulled.

Greensboro has three, as well.

I was talking with my FIL about junkyards down that way and all of the ones he used to use have closed. What ones are you hitting?

This is correct.
