My friend has a '93 Chevy Celebrity that for some reason still has a R12 system. It still blows cold, but not much cooler than outside air. I've done 3 R134a conversions myself. Two I did with minimal tools, one I did with gauges and a vacuum pump. I've been reading about some of the "substitute" R12-type gases, but I've never messed with them (RB-276 is one). I'm more concerned about my friend being able to get the system serviced by someone other than myself later on. R134a conversion-in-a-box is about $35, so I'm thinking of just getting her that. I also want an excuse to buy my own A/C pressure gauges to properly fill the system (and fill my owns systems).

Any tips or regrets before I get to work?
