Spotted going south on I65 yesterday early evening.
Ratty old looking Cummins Dodge with a Merak on a rollback... towing a smaller trailer with a doghouse from something on it.

I wish.
I have a tail light for one of those sitting in my garage. Someday, I'd like to finish the car...
looks like a standard ramp truck and not a rollback. regardless, yes this seems very GRM.
Also reminds me of one additional reason I hate Jalopnik... they recently had the Merak listed as one of the least super supercars of all time. http://jalopnik.com/the-ten-least-super-supercars-511015135
The truck was pretty badass. Seemed to be hauling all that at 70-75mph without much trouble. It was LOUD, but it was doing it.

I'm not even sure the Merak was ever marketed as a super car. If it was, it's not very super. 3100 pounds and a max of 215hp was not super even in 1976.
I thought it might be the Merak from this thread at first, but looks like the car on the trailer is missing some parts. http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/classic-cars/car-catcher-maserati-merak/64402/page1/

The Merak will always be a supercar based on looks alone. There's a lot of very exotic old iron (and Aluminum) that turns out to be a yawn by current standards. A friend has an immaculate Alfa Montreal. Amazing car, yet a v6 Camry can take it in a straight line. Or there's always the classic E-type versus Honda Minivan challenge. Remember how it turned out? Performance is relative. In a few years they'll be talking about how lame our generation of Lambos are. Wait, some are already saying that!

It practically ruins my life that i dont own that.
On the other hand, even though i own a little over a dozen cars, i think i finally found one that i literally dont have room for!

There was a similar thread on this site not long ago and multiple people mentioned that car.

Good philosophy!

Yikes. A 318 to yank all that AND a car on the back down the road?
Needs moar diesel.
No kidding.. Im pretty sure the one in OPs pics is a diesel which makes it pretty sweet. The one in the link is a cool truck in need of a better motor. Im honestly not sure if a stock 70s 318 could maintain speed up a modest hill in a truck that big.
Im also curious about braking 'performance'.

Nope, I just want to find one and pull a "crankwalk" and drop in some newfangled turbo engine, maybe a Subaru or Nissan affair, like his Fubaru project.
I thought a 318 would be a bit small for that as well. I suspect it was the cheapest option for a replacement (it does say new within 6K).
But cool nonetheless...
There's a complete early 6bt swap, already pulled, sitting on my local CL for $1200. Too bad by the time i got that thing shipped and put a cummins in it id be in it almost.. 7-8k. Kinda high price for something that would still probably need a ton of other work.
