So now I have to decide whether I want it, or if I can make some dough off parting it out. The car is rolled, airbags blown, expensive hood and bunper shot, 240,000 km. I have a first gen car that would be a rocket with that engine, but I see there are no engines on Ebay...How much are they worth?

Here is the car: http://www.sgi.sk.ca/lcgi/salvage_bid_site/more_comp_details.cgi?stock_num=N130344

Engine/trans/harness must be worth something.

For the engine trans harness ecu you could get $1000-1500 on ebay from what I have seen. I you part it out into smaller pieces you might do better than that

I get between $700-$1500 for the engine complete with intake manifold and turbo. I cant make out the build date on the vin tag but if its an 04-05 with the LSD the trans is worth $700-$1000. Shifter assembly with boot and ball is worth a few bucks. Make sure you get the key, sell the harness, SKIM module, keys, cluster, and, PCM together to someone doing a swap. Viper seats are worth $300 or so. Steering wheel in good shape is $100.

Pretty much any SRT specific stuff is worth something. A swapped 1gn is a seriously magical thing to drive

I have always wanted to buy one of those wrecked, put base neon bumpers, hood, trunklid, and SXT alloys on it, and paint the whole mess beige. Best sleeper ever.

^00 Plymouth body work is so perfect

04s tend to have less 3rd gear issues so you lucked out

Like so?

Although this is a Base Neon with EVERYTHING mechanical swapped into it from a wrecked SRT4.

In reply to Swank Force One:

Yes. Exactly like that. I knew I couldn't have been the first person to have this idea.

Golly gee whiz...I have a 2002 base car with too many miles to be easily saleable....But I really want a first gen toy, because I'm too stupid to realize I already own a ministock Neon, a IT Neon, and a rally themed Neon...

I had a '96 ACR with SRT swap. I chose to use Megasquirt to manage it, but it was an absolute RIOT. I ran Azenis on stock tires, stock body, and Mopar High Rate springs. I miss that car....

What do you know, I just bought a wrecked SRT-4 today too! I'm saving the engine and transmission for my Midlana project, and hoping to part out the rest to make back what I paid for it. Let me know anybody needs some Neon parts!

What do you want for the seats?

What kind of gas mileage do those things get?

Im eyeballing that top dash pad, but I think shipping it across the country might be a bit spendy...

FYI the 2nd gen neons have very brittle dash pads and they crack crazy easily. Take care when you remove it and you can sell it for 50-100.

^ My 310ish hp stock turbo car got between 26-31mpg driving everyday. In race trim (no cat, agressive tune) lower 20s.

If any of the wrecks have a stg1 ecu Id be interested

How do you spot a stage 1 ecu?

Pull the ecu you will see a bar coded tag on the case under the plugs. If it says Mopar stage 1 with the mopar M you have one. Stage 2 and 3 also exist and if you pull that we have to talk lol

So pretty. I just need to keep reminding myself that my 1st gen is going away soon so I don't need to buy the seats, or stock springs(iirc, will lift a lighter 1st gen, perfect for RallyX)

Well, I decided to buy it. Its about 3 hours from here, so I guess its road trip Monday next week.

Maybe try to build it as a 2014 Challenger...sadly, gas in the tow vehicle from here to Fla is probably more than $2014.

Offhand, does anybody know of a good build thread for SRT swapped first gen Neon?

I may be able to pick up a Patriot that someone ran out of oil. What are the chances that an SRT engine would swap into it?
