Anyone else heading to the St. Pete Grand Prix this week? JG and I will be there, gathering editorial and putting the final touches on the Pirelli World Challenge fan guide.
One bit of advice: The towing there is super-agressive, so park in a legal spot. And even then, you might be taking your chances….
Crossing paths. Leaving from Clearwater headed to Daytona for spring Turkey Run to support my wife's classic car insurance booth.
We'll wave as we pass you on I-4.
Probably not making it to the race but are you guys booked at night? Any interest in getting beers maybe Friday night? I've been wanting to try the Green Benches Brewery which is just off Central.

Trying to find tickets, a few years ago I was able to find gen admission for free relatively easily.

Yeah, our evenings tend to be booked but if anything changes, I'll let you guys know.

Yeah, what he said. This year I'll need to be on site, at a photographer's meeting at 7:15am. I am anything but a morning person. I think I'll be enjoying an Ambien Margarita around 8:00 every night to make sure I can get out there on time.
Oh, and if anyone is coming into town for the race, you can't leave before filling your gut at one of these historic St. Pete eat-dealies:

and/or

Both are within a reasonable distance from the event area.
Don't wake me when you leave, JG.
And with that comment, I'm sure I just invited a 7:00 am pounding on my hotel room door….

Is that supposed to be me or JG? Because if it's supposed to be me, my fingerless gloves are green.
The photo can also represent the 7am pounding on the door...if it is the back door.
JohnRW, you almost owed me a keyboard
St. Pete bus leaves later today. See you guys there this weekend.
I'm confused. You're intentionally going to watch Crapwagons?

Hello, St. Pete. We're here and on the ground. Tomorrow we'll be busy.
And for those of you keeping score at home, JG and I aren't even on the same floors of the hotel.

This weekend's festivities also include the Pirelli World Challenge with races on Saturday and Sunday. Both races are available via free live-streaming video on the World Challenge website.
^That's not a canoe as the live feed is usually a victim of bad announcing and lengthy caution flag delays but it's a good excuse to sit down and enjoy a beer or two.
Yes, we're here gathering Pirelli World Challenge editorial. The next issue mails with the series guide. JG and I know the guys putting it together.
