Step 1: Get into a car crash on the autobahn
Step 2: Unsuccessfully try and bend the metal back into original shape
Step 3: Cut metal out of the car and parts car. Also, collect all available parts you can find.
Step 4: Start tack welding
Step 5: Get sad at how crappy of a job you did
Step 6: Remember how a grinder and paint makes you the welder you ain't. Get workin at it
Step 7: First layer of bondo applied
Step 8: Sand and re-apply bondo. Repeat several times
Step 9: Go get color matched spray paint
Step 10: Realize that Germany doesn't have that easily available. Buy closest thing you see
Step 11: Start painting, cry at obvious mismatch.
Step 12: Look for plastic supports online.
Step 13: Don't overpay for cheap plastic supports, fix them all yourself
Step 14: Put new to you bumper on
Step 15: Revel in how far you've come and realize that this would've been done already if you weren't so lazy
According to my parents step two was have the guy who rear ended you spot the pregnant woman in the car and dump out their wallet on your lap and drive off. Then step three is to have the guy you rear ended run back, see the pregnant woman in the car and dump out their wallet on your lap and drive off. Step four was to wait for the tow truck and use the $4000 you got to buy another car.
Of course this is all hearsay, I was only -1 month old at the time and don't remember.

This guy was rolling around (I assume) many years ago with $4k in his wallet?
Step 1; Cut a hole in a box.
In reply to gearheadmb :
Rest assured, this was not the cause of the crash.
You live somewhere without vehicle inspections, I see.
In reply to Streetwiseguy :
TUV is an inspection
