Has anyone run a set of StopTech Street Performance Pads on their vehicle?
I am thinking about trying them on the Integra for daily and autox use, the parts store junk that I have on there now is far from confidence inspiring. I can get a set for both axles for just under $100. I've had hawk hps on street cars before which are nice but quite dirty, and I don't think I want hp+ on the daily driven street car. I was wondering if these fell somewhere in between? I didn't turn up too many results on them while searching.
They are what I use on the street on our cars. Like you siad, less than $100 shipped for all four corners from RockAuto.
Good bite, though not like the Hp+, but much, much less dirty. No noise complaints either. They even held up moderately well on my Z4 during my novice track days without fade, but they did leave deposits on the rotors after getting good and warm.
I ran them on my E46 330ci for a while. They took a beating from two track days at Road America and still had plenty of material left. I highly recommend them.
I'm running them for street driving on my mustang right now. Overall a pretty good pad. The bite is good and they aren't very dusty. I was hesitant about using them on track because I've heard mixed reviews about how they would hold up and my car is pretty heavy so I went with Carbotechs which are a great pad but completely different. I called StopTech before deciding on buying the Carbotechs and they claimed they would be good to ~1300F however I'm not sure what kind of performance the pads would have at high temperatures.
Anyways, that was a bit of a tangent but I would recommend them for street and auto-x duty! I will say that you should try and run them through a decent bedding process because they don't like to just be slapped on the car and driven away like a parts store pad.
I've got them on my wrx and like others have said less than 100 for a full set. The car used to get autoxed a bunch now it usually gets rallyxed and goes out on desert trips ( we make mock rally "stages" and run them ) as well as dd and back roads. And so far so good. They squeal loud when stoping in reverse for some reason and my wheels are black so no dust comment but they have served well. I think they have just over 20k on them and I'm looking into replacements since they are just about getting there.
I'm looking at hawk and ebc ( got the red stuff ones on the Miata and love those ) but can't really see a reason for why I should get something else.
Anyone tried the StopTechs and Porterfield R4-S? The StopTechs sound like a great deal, are the Porterfields worth the extra dollars?
