Stranded in Mandeville, MS

(Correction: Mandeville, Louisiana!)

Hey folks! I was towing a friend's 2013 Chevy Camaro SS with my 2013 VW Touareg from NC to NM and I have blown something (oil pressure light came on and the oil that should be in the engine seems to no longer be there). It's all currently in the Walmart parking lot in Mandeville, LA, and I checked into a nearby hotel.

The hitch: I have to be in Oakland, Ca, this weekend to speak at a conference (it's important because I'm the process of building my own consulting firm and was hoping to get a new client or three out of this (the big move to Australia fell through because they were dumb and offered me 70% of what they said the job would pay)).

The original plan was to drop the Camaro off, drop the trailer at a friend's place in Sonoma, do work stuff in SF, grab trailer and pick up my Miata and a few engines from Lodi, then head back east.

I could pull the Camaro off and keep going, but that would leave my Touareg and trailer behind. I could rent something to tow the Camaro the rest of the way to NM, but still need to double back to deal with the Touareg. 

My ask: Is there anyone nearby who could stow the Touareg and trailer for me for a week or two so I can get the Camaro to NM (hopefully before snow kicks in) and then fly to CA from there to do my conference? I can fly back next week to deal with my poor beloved Touareg.

 Other viable solutions will gladly be considered!

I've been working in MS and would be glad to help, but right now I'm in GA for a few weeks. The best I could offer is a place to store it on my job site, but I don't think it's close.

Where's Mandeville?  Sure it's not Mandeville LA?

My job site is in Meridian.

WalMart is often pretty casual with their parking and has reasonably decent security.  If it's only for a week or so, is there any chance of leaving it there?

Google is not finding the location as spelled.  

No Mandeville, MS but there is a Mandeville, LA which is just north of Lake Ponchitrain in North Metro New Orleans.  This would be off the I-12 and then south slightly into a residential neighborhood to arrive at this small Walmart that is food only (more like just a grocery store.)  google map

Off I-12 at the same exit of Rt190 (The Tammany Pkwy) there is a Walmart Super Center less than a miles north but this is technically in Covington, LA  google map

If you are at either one of these, there is a VW Dealership 4.5 miles south of that large Walmart.

I got hold of Mark T, we're figuring it out now...

MT323 has me covered! He'll grab my trailer and tow the Touareg to a mechanic he trusts; I'll drive the Camaro to NM, fly on to CA for my workshop and fly back to New Orleans to pick up the Touareg and trailer.

My former stomping grounds. I used to work next door to the Covington Wal-Mart, and many thought it was Mandeville - the line can be fuzzy. Glad you got things sorted.

No word yet...but I'll have an empty trailer when I drive from LA to NC in a few weeks if anyone needs a car hauled... 😂
