The Street Machine Nationals car show is going on this weekend at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in St. Paul.  As the name suggests it was mainly domestics (lots of late model Challengers, Camaros, Mustangs, and Corvettes; not as many vintage cars as I would have liked).  However, there were a few GRM-friendly vehicles that you just don't see any more (at least here in the rust belt): a really nice Chevy LUV pickup, a line of first generation RX-7s, and a nifty Opel GT that had a 3.4 liter GM V6 and four speed driveline transplant.

I really want to flog an Opel GT someday, even just a stock one. It seems like it would be a combination between a Miata & a Chevette.

One of my college buddies had an Opel GT and I drove it once.  I remember it was a fun car, but that was 45 years ago so I don't recall details.

The Opel GTs are cool, and I can't believe how on board I am with idea of "a nice Chevy LUV."

There's an astonishing number of vehicles I would've snubbed 20 years ago that now seem so full of character.
