I'm doing the timing belt on my brother's 2009 Accent Monday. Is the crank pulley belt reverse or regular thread and should I change anything else while I'm in there. It looks like the water pump is external so that shouldn't be a problem.

The last Hyundai I did a timing belt on was normal CCW to loosen.

Be careful with brittle Korean wires and connectors. Use a pocket screwdriver to lift the tab from the end of the connector instead of the stupid "button" tab that never works where applicable.

Agreed... Regular thread. Righty tighty, lefty loosey.

Don't overtighten the belt. Hyundais are pretty picky about where to tension them. Too loose will be obvious just like any other belt. Too tight will whine.

Otherwise, straight-forward timing belt job.
