Assume non-galvanized German car late Sixties/early Seventies vintage, available stupid-cheap today with heavy rust damage. Let's say (for whatever reason) I want to fund a full restoration including complete disassembly and acid dip of the unibody. Is it possible to have the dipped frame reliably rust-proofed?
Second, does anyone know of a source of quality reproduction steel panels (Audi)?
this place is in Romulus MI. scroll down to Restoration Service and click Learn More:

i'm sure there are places like this in other big industrial areas.
their price list says $3800 to strip and e-coat a car body.
EDIT: this is copied from their Redi-Coat page:
IMPORTANT NOTES
Any parts that are not steel, must be removed. Aluminum and zinc die cast will be destroyed in the cleaning process. We have different methods for cleaning these parts. This includes any Body Tags on chassis. Please inform us of any non-ferrous parts, so they can be separated. Failure to do this could cause your part to be destroyed! We do our best to watch for these type of parts, but we don't always catch them in time.
