I just watched a YouTube video demonstration of the roof-mounted middle seatbelt and how it works and unlocks with the key?

The real question is this: when did Subarus start using middle seat shoulder belts?

Forester especially.

Thanks guys

My '10 has one, and the pet barrier has a bump out for it.

My son's 2004 Forester X is equipped with the rear middle shoulder strap.

Our '02 WRX(impreza) wagon has it.

Hmmmm, so if an '02 Impreza had one, maybe a Forester will too?

If I were looking I would search ebay ads for interior pics of '02 foresters. Instead I am going to search for interior pics of the older one I bought but don't have yet. You've made me curious.

In reply to MrJoshua:

I Google "2002 Forester back seat" and there's no middle belt to see presumably because it's recoiled in the roof/ceiling.

I know the 2003 had one.

But that was the first year of that body style, so it's not really an indicator of the previous body style.
