Per's Impreza wagon is getting lots of love recently. After his recent rallycross success, he's been tearing up the fire roads and trails through the woods. He must be enjoying it a lot, because he's gone and found another set of competition-spec rally tires to enjoy.

His enthusiasm is infectious; I'm looking for the next local Rallycross event and wondering if I'll find the right 2WD Cherokee in time.
I just got my first taste of Subaru on rally tires at a rallycross this past Saturday, where I co-drove a friend's 2.5RS on them. Sure, I took 10th out of 12 in M4, but much of that is because I spent the entire day building confidence in the tires and learning what they can do - and I still never found their limit!
Not to say I wasn't sliding around a bit...
It's definitely made me want a late 90s Impreza that much more than I already did...
While we're posting gratuitous shots of Subaru's being rally-x'd, this was me this weekend:
Hope you guys do well!

Other than the traction advantage, real rally tires have the advantage of really firm sidewalls. As a result they are much less likely to pop a bead if you catch a rut sliding sideways vs. snow tires.
At the last rally-X I attended 6-7 cars pop beads on snow tires and I don't think anyone did on a rally tire. Some areas it moves you up classes, but for up here (Ontario, Canada), it doesn't.
Pick them up used. Lots of rally guys sell them. They may be too worn for a stage run, but you can rally-X them like that for a long time.

You say Subaru shoes?
Ask Per when he's gonna get his gymkhana on?
This was my first event on Falken Azenis rally tires. The wheels are Jeep Cherokee Sport Steel wheels. Check that mad negative offsets yo! For later events, I shoved some thick spacers in between.
It was a heck of a lot of grip though, I loved that car on those tires.
I wish my Subaru could run 15" wheels....
