Sorry that this post isn't about clearing doubles or tearing up the dirt, but it's been a while since we have given our 2000 Subaru Impreza rallycrosser props for just being so practical. This weekend, in fact, it helped us out of two jams.

Jam #1: A friend needed to get his lawn tractor in for service but didn't have a suitable vehicle. Enter our Subaru and a simple trailer. Problem solved. (While it's hard to see in the photo, yes, the trailer does have a license plate.)

Jam #2: Our friend also needed help removing an old VW Beetle from storage. One problem: The Beetle's rear brakes were frozen solid. The Subaru dragged the Beetle from its place of slumber, but, truth be told, we switched to something with a bit more displacement—and a torque converter—for the rest of the drag up the driveway when it became obvious that the Beetle's brakes weren't going to release.
