Having had to replace the D.O.C. 2.5 in my Forester, I've got a few good bits and pieces left over. I'm considering swapping my heads and intake onto a 2.2? I suppose I could clean up the ports a bit and maybe match them, but would there be any real advantage?
This is the real question....the others were a result of the wonky page loading, and then I couldn't delete them.

Can't think of one. The 2.2 is pretty good running engine.
I don't think it would be much gain for the work. The 2.5 was a dual port and depending on the year the 2.2L's had single exhaust ports (later 2.2L phase II motors). The early 2.2L's were also dual port.
I prefer swapping the entire motor when I work on Subie's.
