What it says in the subject line - are SXSs allowed in autocross?

The vehicle in question would be on street tires with the suspension set as low as possible.

Assuming track width > overall height, would it be legal?  Class is irrelevant.

Thanks.

My local region allowed one to run in A Mod a few years ago. Depending on which model, I'm not sure the stock roll structure would meet the safety requirements though.

Hypothetically, I wouldn't allow it to run on slicks.

Yeah, I think it would be normal street tires.

We allowed one to run last year. It was lowered and on car wheels and tires and it met height-by-width. Like others have said, he was forced to run A/Mod, and our safety stewards said that if it lifted a tire off the ground, they were bouncing it. It still had tons of body roll, even lowered with different spring rates and shock valving, and wasn't terribly fast, but it was cool. I rode along in the afternoon instructing the guy.

Also, if you guys have issues with sound restrictions, make sure they don't have some crazy exhaust on it. Some of them are absurdly loud, this one included. Fortunately, our site is an airport next to a scrapyard, so we don't have noise issues, but they could irritate people in a hurry in more urban settings.

I've been wondering what the common name for vehicles like the Polaris RZR was. I have been calling them bougey buggies.
