Is it possible to add (?) or change the grease in a FWD pressed in bearing to synthetic grease? Or maybe the grease is synthetic to start... Just wondering...

I think all pressed in bearings are sealed. Grease cant be added nor changed.

i figured out how to grease the front wheel bearings in my 97 cavalier. it was as simple as taking the hub assembly off the car, carefully prying the seal off the back side, and using a ball inflating needle with my grease gun to jam grease in there. amazingly enough, i was able to save the grease seals and pound them back in place. but NAPA does sell a front inner bearing seal for some reason.. this would keep the bearings quiet for a few weeks if i used a heavy grease and made me wonder why they couldn't put a grease zerk somewhere. a couple of pumps of grease every year or so and the bearings would probably last forever and you'd never need to buy an expensive replacement- which i guess is probably why the wheel bearing manufacturer didn't put one there...

more importantly, wheel bearing assemblies cost money. a nickel spent installing a grease zerk at the factory costs them a sale of a hundred dollar hub assembly down the road.
