Long story short, I was really struggling with what wheel/tire combo to put on the FiST next season. The 4x108 pattern really limits your options, so you can't just hit the easy button and run something like the RPF1. I had shopped and shopped and just couldn't make up my mind.
Then Friday night I am out shopping for something called a "formal jumpsuit" with the wife, scrolling the forums from my phone as I wait outside the dressing room. Low and behold, a company is putting together a group buy on the Enkei RPF1. OH, and the deadline is end of day, Friday. ACK! I start furiously posting and sending PM's to get in on the buy. Then I recall that the Tire Rack has the RE71R in the size I need pretty cheap, and with a rebate until the end of the month. So I buy those from the phone as well.
The wife finds the suit she wanted, and she looks AMAZEBALLS. She is wondering if $80 is too much to spend, and I snicker because I just spent $1300 while she was trying it on.
Not the actual wheel, but it looks exactly like this.

I had to look up a "formal jumpsuit" (should've just scrolled down...) wth is that? It's all one piece? Did Cher used to wear these? Why am I talking about women's wear on a car forum?
Nice, RPF1s are one of my favorites.
I like those, wonder how they would look on an original saab 900
Why did ford choose such odd bolt patterns for the STs? Like you put 5x114.3 on the Mustang, why not the FiST, FoST, and FoRS? And every other car besides GM and BMW.

If a saab 900 wore a pant suit, would it wear it like....
Here's what I know about fashion: I have to wear pants in public. Other than that, I hear jumpsuits are coming back. When Formal Overalls become a thing, I am leaving this planet.

Wheels or pants suit?
I would hope the wheels, but as the car is black, I imagine it would wear the pantsuit in a classy way
I can't tell what was more last minute. You getting in that group buy, or me helping someone buy a 13 year old Yukon XL Denali in 45 minutes on Halloween night. At least it was noticeably below market value.
The tires arrived over the weekend, and while they look all nice and fresh and sticky, I think they are too big. I went with the RE71R in a 225/50-16 and it is just too tall. I can't really test it out because I have nothing to mount them on, but it would be very close if it worked at all. They are just for autocross, but I am not ready to start rolling and fenders yet.
So I am thinking that I will exchange them for a 215/45-16 BFG Rival S. I can confirm they they fit, so why stress over a few mm?
