Crazy, I feel the same way with any bmw past e46/e39. BMW's are more fun to drive though. Especially their N/A M-cars

I don't recall exactly but am pretty sure it was an ebay special the PO put on. Carbon fiber look but I don't think it was real, as the top surface was starting to cloud badly. It looked good from a distance though!

I also had the headlights professionally polished and sealed. Made a huge difference. Unfortunately, unlike the e46 models, you can't just replace the lens. :(

My indy guy, who made plenty off of me on my 135 explicitly told me to pass on the V8 cars unless I wanted to help buy him another fun car. Rod bearings, broken valve springs, ITB motor gears, etc.

So as usual, I share my easy ownership experience and it bites me in the ass.

Monday I went to take the kids to school and was going to drive the e92. It wouldn't go into gear when running. I could get it into gear and then start it, which caused a slight drag on the clutch and the car to creep fwd. first thought was the clutch pivot pin.

Today I took it apart, I had a couple of those pins from my e36 and thought it would be a relatively easy fix, even if the transmission had to come off.

Its a twin disc clutch and it looks like the captive disc shattered to pieces. The plastic pivot pin looked brand new.

It went from a $20 part to a shopping cart worth $750 quick.
Parts will be here 9/13 ... I'd still buy one :)

Rod bearings are a thing on these.  Plus vanos.  I dunno, I wasn't all that taken with the motor, it just doesn't have very much umph but gets the same craptacular gas mileage of a v8 that does.
