Waiting on taxes and I stumbled on a high mileage insite with manual trans. my commute is only 40 miles its a canyon road but is a very tame one. Excitement is only to had had at very high speeds. My daily right now is an 06 Subaru Baja. I'm getting no use out of the awd or the bed, just paying for them at the pump.
Have been on the hunt for a cheap commuter. Longing for a fx16 but this popped up.

Help me keep my soul, talk me off the ledge.
I am the guy that just purchased an 11 year old Jag so I am no help. Do it.
Oh you want that, especially at that price.

Looks like I came to the right place for "help".
Heck yes snag that for $2k!
341622 miles... and looks pretty good!
I have one and would likely buy that one if it were near me. I would probably do something stupid like put a K20 in it and go camaro hunting...
Also, I bet you could get another 100k miles out of it without doing much.
I've got $2k and am only 8 hours away... hmmm

I have dreamed of one of these with a Viper V10 mid engine trans plant, but lately, a v12 Jag, wonder why that is....

I just got my refund yesterday. Lucky for you I'm 3000 miles away.
And welcome to "enablers-R-us".
I always think EV1 everytime I see those.

The majority of the 70k miles i've put on my insights was on straight roads where excitement was only to be had at high speeds. So what did i do? I hit 90+ every single day. They do ~112 in 3rd gear and honestly with the aero they aren't really slow from 80-110 in 3rd gear. You'd be surprised! Besides, nothing feels THAT slow when you are passing everyone. I got 50mpg driving like that. They're rated 60hwy so i was giving up 10mpg to haul ass. So sad!
The last time i had the chance to buy a 300k+ mile insight for ~2k, i bought it. It was my 2nd one and i still have both of them.
I wouldnt expect the battery pack to last forever, or very long, or 2 months. I think the right way to get an Insight is to get it cheap with the expectation the battery will fail, buy a battery for $1800, and then be happy knowing it really is worth $4k in the end.
