This kid is being so hard headed about selling the car back to me. I did 99% of the modifications to this car and he's acting like a few things he did warrant selling the car for way more than he bought it for and giving me lip when I tell him I have the $ to buy it back (at a different price). Flood his e-mail box with sob stories of why he should sell it back to me lol.

I'm kicking myself in the ass for selling this car. His whole reasoning why he won't lower his price is that he can't buy a corvette unless he sells it for that.
I dont usually like those cars, but that thing is beautiful.
Free market. He can try to sell it at whatever price he wants.
"We are not your personal army."
That car is just WOW, sry you have to go through a stupid kid to get it back, maybe show up with a wad of cash (2k under what he is asking) slap him in the face with it and roll?
Straw buyer.
Get mad blow up and tell him you wouldn't buy it for any price and storm off. Then he thinks he's lost an easy sale.
Then send 1-2 others who pick it apart and low ball him. Have one of them work up to a reasonable price and buy it.
I understand it's a free market. But the fact the kid has an awesome offer and I'm willing to pay more than what I sold it for to have it back and he's being a prick about it frustrating. He doesn't work and it's his parents money so that explains everything.
I was between a rock and a hard place when I sold it. It was the only asset I really had. My active orders for the reserve got cut early by like 9 months. I had no job to go back to, kid on the way. Now I'm in a very good spot, already received a promotion and a raise within six months and want this toy back in my life lol.
I don't see him getting that price.
Umm... it's a Trans-Am. Buy something good instead. I kid, I kid.
I remember thinking the Trans-Am was awesome when I was in high school. It's almost like its desirability is inversely proportional to your ability to pay for it. That might be what is at work in this situation.

this. Pick up a 4K vette, detail it all pretty like, and offer a straight up swap.

Yeah, I'm willing to bet you can get an FRC cheaper than the sticker he's got on that pig. Buy it, wave it under his nose.
I'd start over and do one better. It's just rubber and iron.
Why does it have to be that car? This coming from the guy that sees two of his old trucks nearly every day. They paid a fair price (the amount I required) now it's there's to wreck or sell or scrap end of story.

That's a good looking 'Bird, and this is the one that got me to have a little respect for the F-body. But holy hell, that's pricey. He'll never get that.
I agree with both the straw buyer and buy "his" 'Vette ideas. Combine them for the best effect.
DirtyBird222 just "found" this on Craigslist...mmm?

he is asking crackhead prices, and his trade requests are equally crack-tastic.
go buy a Z06 and wave it in his face, then tell him berkeley off when he asks if you want to trade.
That thing is pretty sweet, all those pictures are near my old house too. I can see some of them were in Winter Springs.
Good luck getting that car but I would agree with blowing the kid off and telling him he's crazy. That might bring him around since he knows you want the car bad. Then again he might get the opportunity to dump it on someone else.
I had to deal with something similar not that long ago. I had an 86 IROC camaro I bought right out of high school, went through it from end to end, TPiS airfoil, cam, ported TB, upper plenum, ported runners, and gasket matched lower, adjustable fpr, heads ported and shaved by a guy who builds sbc motors for a living, etc.. car ran great. Let a friend drive it and he put it in a ditch doing quite a bit of damage to the fender and body kit so I parked it due to being on disability at the time. Got approached by an elderly gentleman wanting to purchase it, decided I needed the cash, and sold it. Saw a similar car for sale recently and stopped to talk to the guy, he wanted 4 times what he paid for it.(or his grandfather had paid for it)
How do I know? It was my old car, pointed things out to him that he didn't even know about it. Here's the kicker, he wanted so much because he had put new heads, cam, intake and a CARB! His excuse was that the heads were stock castings, he put a bigger cam in for more lope, and everyone knows the TPI stuff sucks! Oh and he had ditched the edlebrock shorty headers into a 3inch flowmaster system for dual exhaust as he didn't like the sound of the single. Best part? He scrapped all the old parts as they were not worth anything.
Walked away shaking my head. Wanting to throttle the guy, A LOT of time and effort went into putting a system together that worked together. I couldn't even bring myself to test drive it.
Oh and to the point, get yourself a ZO6 or FRC and rub it under his nose.

Very true... But that does not prevent us from pulling some shenanigans to help the OP get his car back.
Remember if you get it back it is going to be like dating an X girlfriend. Except she has now been around the block a couple of times. Ya some times it works out but.. . .. For that kind of $$$$ you should be able to get a decent C4 or a base model C5.
At least you initially sold it for something resembling a fair price...Just imagine how some of these sellers felt.
Regardless it sounds like you may be SOL. Obviously this car is a "make me sell" rather than a "need to sell" kind of deal, and I doubt if getting upset with him or enlisting others to get on his case is going to help your case at all.
