We have the option of renting the road course on Thursday, Oct 19th at Gainsville Raceway. I was thinking of bringing my TR3 over to do a bit of suspension tuning. We could invite a dozen or so $2017 Challenge entrants at about $175 each (just want to offset the track rental and safety crew expense) if there is interest in either sorting (not that any Challenge entrant has ever needed an extra day of sorting) or just having another day of fun, shoot me an email. tim@grassrootsmotorsports.com
Wow!
This year it might be hard for me since I am running low on vacation as it is, but if it becomes a regular thing I'd be very interested.

I'd love it!
(oh wait... i wont have a car)
Would love to, but money and fear of breaking the car before the show are why i cant
This would definitely be a bonus for our 16 hr drive... really need to finish car now
while extremely tempting, I'm gunning for a top spot and breaking the car screwing around prior to the actual event would be devastating.
In reply to Patrick :
I have an idea ... pre event race for the tow vehicles. What's worse than a DNF? A DNF and no way to tow it home.
In reply to Stampie :
Ummm, i have 370hp, 800 lb ft and a factory warranty. Bring it on
In reply to Patrick :
I have LSness, 50 inch shorter wheelbase, and weigh 2500lbs less.
I'd be tempted to leave my challenge car at home and bring the mustang for the weekend. Also because I'm not finding time to finish my challenge car.
In reply to Andy Neuman :
Let us finish it Thursday night. Does it stop, go, and turn? Just needs a little sawzall action no problem.
In reply to Stampie :
Currently it's in a no stop situation, replaced all 4 calipers and haven't bled the brakes. I'll probably post soon asking for help.

I'm planning on using a Dajiban (ok b250 conversion van, but lowered!) as my tow vehicle, but sadly it does not yet have enough power to drift.
I'm still considering this.. now that i'm mostly self-employed i can afford to take my time out there, even to the point of comfortably coming a day earlier for this.

Me too, but the Ohio weather change means i'll be highly prioritizing chill by the pool time Wednesday and Thursday prior to the madness Friday
Hell, I'd like to bring my Vette down for this!
So there is some interest, but no firm bookings. We would have to make a go/no go decision on this move in the next day or so.
I think we like the idea for one of the future events so we have more time to plan.

In the future, is there any possibility (or interest) in doing it on Sunday?
Thats when I'd rather do it.

So far you have implied that it is only open to Challenge Participants. You might garner some local interested parties if you open this to all. Still could be difficult to get takers to the mid-week idea.
Im down, Ill bring last years challenge car (#88 tercel), as Im afraid to break one of those mechanical fuses on this years challenge car.
Hey echoechoecho, I sent you a PM yesterday regarding the challenge, if you didn't get it email me at my username at gmail, thanks.
