As a first timer this was such an amazing event, awesome in every way.
Let me say thanks to all involved in putting together such a great weekend, Tim and Margie, all of the magazine staff, to the Morris Motorsports Club, competitors and new friends.
I had a wonderful time in all aspects, yes even in my broken car...see you all next year

Great event. Made it out for the drags. Felt awkward not having a car and being by myself. I'll have a car next year, though. I hope to place somewhere slightly above DNF.

This was also the first year I've been to the event and I had a blast. Already shopping for next years car.

Yep, my understanding is when the club was founded in 1960 it was a company sponsored recreation club. Like a softball team but with cars. I've even heard the company provided an allowance to the club to purchase equipment and allowed them to use the parking lots at their Orlando facility to run events on free of charge. Unfortunately that all changed post 9/11 and we're all on our own now.
Anyhow thanks for having us at the challenge. It makes for a long day driving up from Orlando but its always worth it. Hell, just sitting next to JG for a couple of hours is an experience in itself. His race gas into a rag comment had me rolling in the timing trailer.
Also thanks to the challegers who came over to check out our Mini-Prix. It was neat to see what some of the challenge cars ran compared to our club regulars.

Yes, even with a not so competitive car, it was an AWESOME event. Well run, well scheduled, always entertaining and the food was good too!

This is an awesome event. I showed up not knowing a soul and had made friends within a few minutes of arriving. It may have helped that I brought beer... What a great bunch of people and some amazing automotive talent. I brought away too many ideas for a build next year. To anyone that has never been, just show up and you'll have an awesome time. It's that simple.
I had to take off before the end of the drags to take my wife out for our anniversary. Who finally took second in the drags, Team Gutty CRX or the Turbo Shadow? I've got video of their head-to-head run that I'll upload when I can find my damn cable to download the video.
What was the motor/turbo combo in the Shadow? How much boost were you running at the drags? Your burnouts just looked MEAN!
Turbo Shadow guys got their Nitrous finally sorted out at the end of the day and eeked us (Team Gutty) out by a hair. Just like we tried to catch them last year and didn't quite catch up. Turbo Shadow is a BEAST. So glad they got the nitrous sorted and got the clean runs done.
At least this year it wasn't their timing light that borrowed to check for timing issues and then we got faster ;)

Racing for 2nd with Gutty was just freaking awesome. We were way down on power for some reason and have something very wrong with our tune, but we managed to squeak out an 11.75 to edge out their 11.84.
The engine is a stock long block T-III 16v turbo 2.2 out of a Spirit R/T with a big used turbo, a huge home made intercooler, nitrous and a ton of extra fuel. Boost at the drags at GRM was 17, but creeped higher with the nitrous.
Any pics or videos of the Shadow you have would be great to see. Thanks!
Oh, and btw I SO could have had the Supra in the drags if I had taken the cooler out of my trunk and not been entirely asleep on the light. Wish I had a picture of the GS doing a burnout pre-launch.
I bet the LSD in the Shadow was the most expensive thing on the car.

No LSD in that car...it's a stock open diff trans. You must have missed the peg leg burnouts throughout the autocross.
Jessica and I got back last night after unloading the car at the transporters and spending a day on airplanes. We had a great time, met a lot of great folks, and learned a LOT about how the $200X goes. Thanks a bunch to the staff for helping us out so much; everything including the hotel, registration, the food, timing and scoring, etc. was executed without a hitch. Hopefully I can make a return trip this time next year, time will tell!

It kind of looked like the right tire stopped spinning before the left. Your parking lot burnout on Friday was better looking.
You would have outrun the Mercedes, Katie ran a couple 15.5's in it after you left.
