Perhaps the only good thing about waiting far too long to get 35mm film developed is that you end up almost entirely forgetting what’s on the rolls, making that moment when you do look at the developed photos that much more entertaining.

Kentmere Pan 400. I think it goes for less than $10 a roll.

I don't mind the overall look of that Kentmere film - I shot a fair bit of it years ago - but it has some odd color responses that make some shots look a little muddy. Try some filters and see if you're happier with the results. My go-tos are green and orange, but you need to experiment and see what works for you.

More color filters are definitely on my list of things to buy for my camera, and I'll admit that I'm still very much in the stage of dipping my toes into the world of film photography.

i wish i hadn't given away my K-1000 kit back in the day (1993). gave it to a family friend, a younger guy who loved photography but didn't have money for lenses etc. berkeleyer pawned it the next week.

i was cool back when it was cool to be cool.  the K-1000 was the first nice thing i ever bought myself, back in 1985.
