Been fighting with this decision for quite awhile... Basically, this car has destroyed all enjoyment for me when it comes to playing with cars.
I just want it out of my shop, and out of my life.
Evan, I have a set of RC Engineering 550's somewhere. Won't be going out to the shop til Sunday, tho.
Well, I'm back. My "quick-n-dirty" 3-week engine refresh project is now approaching 3 years, and a bit north of $50,000, if you include the cost of the shop I bought to park the car in.
My work schedule is getting even more ridiculous lately, so I can get to the shop for maybe one five-hour stretch every couple of weeks, so progress is SLOW. Most of that time has been devoted to the shop, so that working on the car will eventually be vaguely enjoyable again.
This was what I was able to accomplish a couple weekends ago...
Also, after exhaustively polling three different people about the Hydra Nemesis standalone I have on the shelf, I got two blank stares, and the third ran away. So I bought this...
I have now officially spent more on standalone stuff for my car, than I paid for the whole damn car when I bought it.
The plan is to get it running on the MS, and as I get more comfortable with standalones, go whole-assed and switch to the Hydra.
I also removed the "ricey" Momo wheel, and installed the Monte Carlo.
Now when I sit in the car making engine noises, I don't look like such a dork!!!
Happily, I have the week of Labor Day off, so I will have some time to actually make some meaningful progress on this thing. Then, sometime in October, we're finally adding a third shift at work, so no more being gone 14-15 hours a day. Eight and skate FTMFW!!!
Then I will finally have some quality play-time for my car.
