What do you think the best/worst trim level packages are? Be it Financially, dollars per hp, better/worse motor, awesome suspension, and I guess you can include the interior crap that no one cares about. Is that extra $5,000 worth the Bilsteins that you could've installed yourself?
The worst will almost certainly have to be one of those silly mostly appearance-oriented trim levels for an American pickup. The only question is which one in particular? Slight chance some of Porsche's "pay us to remove stuff" packages could eke them out.
The best...now that's a hard one. No trim level is a particularly good deal AFAIK.
Eddie Bauer or Harley Davidson Fords are just dumb along with similar "branded" trim levels for GM (Looney Tunes Minivan for example), Subaru, etc.
Best trim packages?
ACR, SRT, SVT, RS, EVO....
Worst might be the Ford F150 EcoBoost Platinum Supercrew from a little quick searching. You do get some meaningful options like the 3.5TT engine and lightweight aluminum parts with that package, but as individual options they make up a surprisingly tiny fraction of the $60k price tag.
King Ranch on The F150.
Best trim line is base with minimal options. Less to go wrong.
The Toyota Sienna comes in L, LE, SE, XL, XLE Premium and SE Premium. For us sporting enthusiasts, the performance model is usually the top dog in the hierarchy. But here, it is only the third on the list, cheaper than the more luxurious models. That's like the GT350 slotting between the 4-cylinder and the GT V8.
I always got the XLT package on all the ford trucks and explorers. I really thought that was the perfect setup for the ford trucks.
Toyota Corolla 'S'. You get 17" alloy wheels, a spoiler and a sunroof. Sporty!
Hah! I was wondering what that "S" package represented!
Best? Maybe Integra Type R? (not just a trim package of course).
Would this be considered a trim package (it should):

Plus the "S" package makes the car feel grounded to the ground!

Texas Edition trim on the Chevy trucks. You pay $3,995 to just get Texas Edition badges on the doors. That's the only exclusive part of the package, the rest can all be optioned on a non-Texas Edition truck.

The worst trim packages are the ones where you can't get the AWD / MT / big engine option.
Followed by the ones where you can't get a manual transmission with any option package above the base one, or stupid crap like if you want a sunroof you can only have an automatic, etc.
Best. Largest engine available in a stripped down vehicle.
Worst. Fully optioned anything.
I've heard the Rally Fun Pack is pretty cool. CB is still optional though.
This one is pretty silly:
You get a bike!
So... you like to ride a bikes and you need a car, but you DON'T have a bike!?!?!
These car trims that have limited colors. I should be able to order a factory car with that color if you have it and have it built with that.
First in my mind in this category is the premiere edition fiat 124. Plus they are all automatics on top of it.
How about the old muscle cars? Hurst? Judge? Yenko? How much did these cost, and what did you get?
Sr5 ae86 to gts ae86= massive difference.
I would say teggy type r is a winner for sure!
Base is best if gutting a vehicle, less E36 M3 to work around but that's pretty much older vehicles.
Had enough of base pickups, while they had their place I ain't gettin' no younger and like some creature comforts. Liked the older XLT Lariat Ford PU's, comfortable but not over the top. Next new truck will likely be a Silverado LTZ plus or Sierra SLT plus w/ Z-71 package. Still does truck duty for what I need anymore but w/ comfort and style.

In the old days you got the supercharger with the HD trucks and the EB edition would get you leather and some bigger tires and nicer steering wheel. But now yeas they are horrible.
Best trim package was the GTO trim option on the 1964 Pontiac Tempest. For $295 you got a 325HP 4Bbl 389ci V8 from the full-size Catalina, 3-Speed manual with Hurst floor shift, dual exhaust, wider wheels/tires, HD springs and cooling, a bigger sway bar, and redlines!
Worst is any modern Mazda with the Touring (middle of the line) trim. As late as 08ish you could get the Touring, which typically had things like foglights, LED's, and a moonroof, with a stick. Now they are all automatic-only. To add insult to injury, the Sport (bottom of the line) where the sticks live typically only gets the smaller motor, and no color! (CX-5 for example, you can have silver, grey, or black in a 2.0 FWD Sport MT or get that bright blue with all the goodies and a 2.5 in the Touring saddled with an automatic)
Best: Says "Mazdaspeed" (duh) or "Black Edition"
Worst: I'd also probably go Eddie Bauer or Nautica editions. Possibly Levis too but I'm on the fence there.
I forget the specifics of it, but if you wanted an SER Spec V Sentra in 2004 with the Brembo brakes, you had to get the sunroof, subwoofer radio, and three or four other completely non-performance oriented options.

But, if you have one of those today with the rack and the bike it is worth ~1-2K $ more than a non-Kona version. Even better if is is green rather than the "Dirt" color.

I remember one guy at my work was so proud of his bumble bee edition camaro from transformers haha

I would rock either a dirt brown or a rain forest green kona, with the rack. Don't care about the bike though. Gotta love those cool tire tread moldings.
