The problem with modern trucks is that they are are just too damn small. I want a truly bigger truck
Not sure if this was tongue in cheek or not...modern trucks are huge. I have a '66 F-100, and if I pull up to a stop light next to a modern truck I feel like I'm in a compact.
I was at the dump yesterday, and of the 10 vehicles unloading 7 of them were white pickups. Including mine
This really has no bearing on the "discussion" at hand, I just thought it was funny.

By "one of these threads" do you mean all threads in which people share their honest opinion of any given vehicle they've driven, or only ones that are critical of the vehicle in question?

When you get a bunch of sports car people (where sports cars are a TINY, TINY part of the market) complaining about what other people buy, because of "reasons"- well.....
It's a little hypocritical for sports car people to be complaining about truck buyers.
If you don't like them, that's fine. Don't buy one. But to complain that others do, well....

I drive a Colorado and most of my street cars have been referred to on here as death traps.
I'll let you decide if I was serious or not.

Considering that your little E36 M3show has reached 5 pages with nary a peep of it being locked, it seems to me that you're being allowed to complain all you want. You're also being called out on it. That's how discussions work. If you can't take the heat, etc.

So.... Now what's you goal here?
New trucks do car things pretty good. I'm getting over the whole daily driver truck thing myself, but I definitely understand it. If you occasionally need a truck and also need a car, but only want to pay for one vehicle, get a truck. Or just buy a truck if you think it's cool, berk, it's your money.
I do find it annoying to be in a low car and not be able to see around a crew cab at an intersection, but I consider that to be my fault at this point.

He's calmed down for now....but have you met our Frenchy?
Oh we have 3 or 4 trolls here that love a good argument. The fun thing is to bait them into it.
