That would be me.

Since I'm posting, anyway, I will take this opportunity to add to my previous comment.

That's another reason why I loved GRM's bracket article; they were trying to pass on info, and were not worrying about trying to sell anything.

I'm now plannning to buy a tap and die set because of that bracket article; other magazines take note - GRM has the secret for convincing cheapskates like me to buy tools

I solved that problem a long time ago. I got a 10Y script to GRM and just let all the other ones expire. Every once in a great while I will pick of a rag off the shelf and it always convinces me that this was the correct thing to do. Combine this with there great message boards and it really is a winner!!!

Thanks GRM!!

We need a GRM influenced version of the old CARtoons magazine. I can start it if it only features stick figures.

I bought an issue of road and track a couple days ago. The pages started falling out even before I had a chance to look at their god awful blurry (the car is moving really fast, wow wee!!!) pictures. I go on a rant like this every few months about other magazines so this time I’ve decided to do something a little more productive. I am going to offer an hour long seminar to all magazine editors on how to improve upon their crappy product. Time and place to be determined. I will charge $5,000 for each person. I am going to charge those idiots at Autoweek $10,000 just because, well, they're now upscale goofs who publish articles about expensive cuff links and pens. They can afford it. I will teach them how to publish photos of their car from a variety of angles, sitting still on pavement. I will ensure that they learn to give up on trying to find the coolest, grittiest urban oasis for posing their pictures. Included in my seminar will be advice on how not to allow themselves to get talked into focusing in on some stupid detail like the shift knob for the sake of art. I will show them in a few simple steps how to politely (yeah, right!) fire their artsy fartsy photographers so that they can go back to working for fashion magazines. This alone will save them a bundle. Then I will teach them to stop hiring high priced (they don't really make that much do they lol?) writers who overdo it with their cutesy analogies and goofy metaphors. Just write about the cars fellas and stop trying to win the noble prize in literature. I will then have an hour long session on how to bind your magazine so that the pages don’t fall out before the damn thing gets out of the store.

With the money I make I should finally be able to buy that Mercedes 450 sel 6.9 I’ve been wanting, you know, with the European bumpers. Or maybe the mid 90’s 500e model? Or maybe I’ll just get myself a nice CTSV wagon and ship it to Lingenfelter or Hennessy for a few choice upgrades? Or I’ll settle for a clean C4. Yeah, that’s what I’ll do!

I gave up on them after they changed their publishing schedule without changing their name. I guess "AutoOccasional" just didn't have a nice ring to it.
