My dad bought Dobbertin's custom built car hauler a few years back. Got to check out this car, his 80's Pontiac wagon (I'm not recalling the model) he was going to put a blown Northstar in the back of, and his (second) amphibious vehicle build.
The J2000 is quite literally awesome. It's a work of art. He took Pro Street so far with that car, the entire genre should have just given him a medal, then packed it up and called it a day - nobody could outdo it.
I'd say Starion for perfect 80's Japo-style. I think the XT was too rare to really qualify, but then I saw the testarossa, etc. 911? I think it's almost all the cars we all dig, to tell the truth.
I think the car that did 80s styling BEST was the late Starion.
Behind that would be the 288 GTO.
I havent spent a lot of time thinking about what did 80s styling worst.

WTF is that???
And I think it needs a couple pairs of Hellas on a light bar...on the bumper and the roof!

That looked great untill about 1990. Its been completely disgusting since then, but I could see it making a comeback anytime now.
On a related note, I came of age in the eighties, and eighties trends making a comeback isn't something that makes me feel warm and fuzzy.
So a 1976 Aston Martin Lagonda is 80s? I am sure they are happy about that!
TR7
Eagle Premier
Nissan Stanza 5 door

same basic design 74-90....I mean if you feel the need to get picky about it.
In reply to codrus: Nailed it... Although that Starion...
A good K.I.T.T. Interior and exterior shot would serve us well too but I guess that's not 100% factory production.

Same with the Countach, 1974 - 1990. Those Europeans sure were ahead of their time1
Good friend in the Navy had one (87-91). I sort-of appreciated it at the time, in my Camaro days. If I could go back in time I'd have one too, if not an 89 MR2 SC.
