One of the prettiest cars available with one of the most tragic engines available.
Because I am first and foremost a sucker for a pretty form, I see that these are often available for money that I could afford, albeit with dead engines.
Just how hard are these to LS swap?
Just... no. A crate engine from Mazda is around $6k, and the original engine is glorious and a large part of the appeal.
Just say no to piston engines in rotary-powered cars.
I like the neighbor's taste. Gorgeous car. I wish I knew more local FD owners.
What he said ^ .. in almost all cases it's going to be less expensive to keep the 13b in good working condition than it is to swap anything else, and Mazda still makes new engine components for the FD 13b REW. These cars are wonderful to drive once normal stuff like old suspension bushings are refreshed, and they really feel special when you're behind the wheel. If you must have an LS, C5 Corvettes are a lot of car for the money..

My favourite version of RX7, with more power available to be unleashed. And the first production car with twin sequential turbos (I think that the equally interesting but much less reliable Mitsubishi 3000 GT VR was not sequential).
A80 Supra came out same year and was also a sequential setup.
Neither the 3000 GT or the 300ZX were sequential, can't imagine the piping nightmare it would take to accomplish that on a V6.

I think we have all seen the Hitler Rotary rant video by now. That is kinda my belief of the rotary life.

Or an RX-8. Nobody cares if you put an LS into one of those. :)

I'm holding hope that this new neighbor is a 26 year old female. Maybe a rich, young, dumb, nymphomaniac!
Nah, she'd have a Cadillac if that were the case.

LS motors don't rev to 9k
Every LS can rev to 9,000. Once.
Oh that video.....I'd never seen it either.
