To my knowledge and the 10 second internet search I performed to back up the title of this thread. ChumpCar Canada is offering the richest prize in all of crapcan racing.

ChumpCar Canada Is running the Canadian Chumpionship on October 8-9 at CANADIAN TIRE MOTORSPORT PARK (MOSPORT).

They are offering a free entry to Targa Newfoundland to the top team eligible for the Chumpionship. Targa Newfoundland entry is almost $8000.00.

Is your team eligible?

See This Link to find out.

That is a pretty sweet prize. Targa Newfoundland is on my bucket list.

I wonder if a Chump spec car could pass tech at Newfoundland?

Even a top tier crap can racer would probably be far from ready.

I feel like there's potential here for a fly-and-drive Targa Newfoundland.

Could a chump car complete a targa? Incredible if it did.

I'm going on a scouting mission to that race. Wonder how much crazier the racing will get?

According to This article It could be done in a Chumpcar.

You also run about 1000 km of transits between stages on public roads with normal traffic and traffic laws (if you bring a race car, which we recommend, the Newfoundland government gives you a license to drive it on the transits legally).
Perhaps this accounts for the Targa license plates

But you would still need to do the SCCA driving school because even winning a highly competetive chump series is no proof you can actually race a car.....

Not necessarily. The Targa organizers issue their own licenses. If you have proof of competence, they'll probably give you one. Winning a Chump series might count as that proof Remember, this is not wheel-to-wheel racing.

A Chumpcar with proper safety equipment would probably be pretty close to passing Targa tech as long as it was also road legal. You'll be driving on public roads, so you need lights and a horn, for example. You're also supposed to have a cat.

In pretty much all cases, if you're interested in entering but have something you're concerned about - contact them and ask. I've never seen a set of organizers who are more willing to find ways to include competitors instead of excluding them. Especially if you're honest and are really trying to meet their regs but just can't for some reason. I would recommend waiting a week before contacting them, as Targa 2016 started today so they're a bit busy.

Great prize. In 2011, there was an AE86 there that had won an autox championship, I think. I'm pretty sure they've run every year since.

Good advice I will put a link to this thread on the chumpcar board because the same questions needed answering there.

EDIT Too late they already answered it there.
