Unmistakable sounds of a diesel. It's LHD and the license plate is fake, so maybe not a unicorn and just a swap into a US car? Google says 200 TDI is one of their engines. I don't know much about these cars...

200 was certainly an available motor. Not sure it was a us spec though honestly. I saw a rhd diesel classic here the other day and was pretty surprised. They're awfully rare.

Looks like their Champcar racer. There does look to be an exposed turbo setup. Pictures from a google search....
I met someone with an Excel at Greenwich Radwood this year. I somehow can't remember the color though. He was surpised I knew what it was. They used Toyota MK3 Supra tranmissions and rear ends IIRC. Here's one sitting on Celica Supra wheels actually, not sure if this was ever a factory thing though.

TBH, on those wheels if it didn't have that plate on it with EXCEL you would think it's a Mk 2 Supra..
Found this not far from home, haven't seen one in years. AND, the rear quarters aren't rusted under the window moldings..

Yep, Avalon. I haven't seen a shop nearby but I don't spend much time in the area. I know there is/was a shop north of town on Aurora, and Google says there's one in Interbay, so enough people around who are into the cars enough to own one with a diesel.

Pontiac Skybird Esprit, very few originals still in existence.

And.. the interior is intact, the dash isn't even broken. They are asking $8500. It's one of the few 2nd gen birds I've seen lately that's reasonably priced.
Come to think, this may be the only blue bird I've ever seen. Yellow bird and Red bird esprit were common back in the day.

Should we love it because it's so nice, or hate it because it probably never gets dirty?
