... and what I am about to purchase now.
I'm a Plymouth Valiant or Dodge Diplomat installation away from Financial Ruin.
(I probably should decide which one of these to put it in)
I may be derided for this, but I say Diplomat. You sure wouldn't meet yourself coming down the street in that.
Plus, you could probably sell the Valiant for actual cash, whereas the Diplomat is scrapper money unless you find some weirdo like every single person on this message board.
The original plan was 5.7 Hemi in the Dippy, and then turbo it after it was dialed in, but I couldn't find a decent deal on one.
Then I found a smokin' deal on some TTi headers this week, which convinced me to swap my mild (380 Hp) 360 into the Diplomat, and one of my 440s into the Valiant.
But now, this 485Hp beauty just about fell into my lap. And it costs about the same to swap a 6.4 as it does a 5.7.
The main issue is that because the Diplomat isn't worth much, it also wouldn't be worth the parts to swap the Scat Pack into it in the first place. Swapping either other vehicle would raise their value proportionately.
Still. I really want to have an ugly, notchy, unknown part of MoPar Malaise History with too much horsepower and decent suspension...

I was thinking 1967 WO/RO Super Stock Hemi scoop if it doesn't fit under the stock hood.

That it would. And as I mentioned, the easiest swap of them all. No firewall, trans tunnel, k frame or torsion bar issues to worry about. Just swap on a rear sump truck pan and go.
Valiant is the lightest, and already has CalTracs.
But this weirdo really likes that Notchback Volare...
If you aren't thinking Pro Stock Plymouth Arrow, I don't know you.
Unless you are thinking Dodge Colt, then you're OK.
This thread is poorly named.
I vote thr Diplomat just because you never see them on the road.
Carry on.

Well, duh.
And as far as the recipient, The Diplomat is far and away the front runner, though there are several other worthy candidates here that would benefit from a Scat Pack 6.4, including a 2wd Poptop Ramchager and an International Travelette. But the Diplomat coupe is the most worthy in my eyes, simply because it is so unworthy.
It is heartening to see the weirdos here agreeing with me to make The Worst Choice, my first choice.
Build what you want to own. Not what makes the best financial sense for a potential resale that if you love it will never happen.

You guys have completely usurped my contrarian persona here.
